Promise Them Anything!

Tuesday, December 04, 2007 at 12:21pm

The Rudd Government promises to keep prices low:

THE Treasurer, Wayne Swan, has pledged to make dealing with inflation
his "number one priority" after day one of the new Labor Government
threw up a perfect storm of economic challenges.

The Rudd Government promises to raise prices:

Mr Rudd warned the costs of energy would increase once Australia
committed to renewable-energy targets. "When you’re dealing with climate
change, ultimately it will impact for example on energy prices."

Severe Weather Outlook

The Pacific Northwest took a pounding with hurricane-force winds and a
deluge of rain. Several rivers in Washington have already exceeded flood
stage. Tuesday will feature more wind and rain but both are on the
decline and the trend will continue.

Meanwhile, much of the Northeast will be cold windy and in some places
snowy. heavy lake-effect snow is liklely along the I-90 corridor from
east of Cleveland, OH to central New York. Some areas will see over a
foot of snow with wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Parts of Northern New England will continue to be pounded with snow on
the back side of a storm moving off the coast of Maine to the Canadian
Maritimes. Some areas will see from 12 to 18 inches.

Elsewhere, a fast-moving storm system will dump a modest amount of snow
from Minnesota to Maryland on Tuesday and Wednesday.

PELOSI FURIOUS

Good news in Iraq is bad news for the Left:

Rep. John Murtha, D-Penn., has been one of the strongest anti-war
voices in Congress and a key ally of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi,
D-Calif. However, after a recent trip to Iraq, Rep. Murtha said, "The
surge is working" …

One story quoting Rep. Murtha is in The Politico – the online
publication that covers Capitol Hill. What is interesting is the next
line that says the Pennsylvania Democrat’s statement "could be a huge
problem for Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders."

"This could be a real headache for us," said one top House Democratic
aide, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Pelosi is going to be
furious."

Nothing infuriates a Democrat speaker quite like a working surge. Which
brings our Virginia editorialist to this fine point:

Imagine if during World War II, some congressional aide had said, "We’ve
just taken back the Philippines. This could be a real headache."

Securities market

The term securities markets enclose a number of markets in which
securities can be bought and sold.  These securities markets can be
classified into four types of markets:

* Primary market
* Secondary market
* Money market
* Capital market

The existence of these markets is advantageous to both the issuer of
the security and the investor.

Yes, beware the coming global cooling!

Warming Trend 1980-2002 Overesimated By 100%

IN PRESS: JOURNAL OF GEOPHYSICAL RESEARCH-ATMOSPHERES

Abstract:

Local land surface modification and variations in data quality affect
temperature trends in

surface-measured data. Such effects are considered extraneous for the
purpose of

measuring climate change, and providers of climate data must develop
adjustments to

filter them out. If done correctly, temperature trends in climate data
should be

uncorrelated with socioeconomic variables that determine these
extraneous factors. This

hypothesis can be tested, which is the main aim of this paper. Using a
new data base for

all available land-based grid cells around the world we test the null
hypothesis that the

spatial pattern of temperature trends in a widely-used gridded climate
data set is

independent of socioeconomic determinants of surface processes and data

inhomogeneities. The hypothesis is strongly rejected (P= 14 7.1 10? × ),
indicating that

extraneous (nonclimatic) signals contaminate gridded climate data. The
patterns of

contamination are detectable in both rich and poor countries, and are
relatively stronger in countries where real income is growing. We apply
a battery of model specification tests to rule out spurious correlations
and endogeneity bias. We conclude that the data

contamination likely leads to an overstatement of actual trends over
land. Using the

regression model to filter the extraneous, nonclimatic effects reduces
the estimated 1980-

2002 global average temperature trend over land by about half.

You are a Habitual Liar Bonzo. Here is the temperature data and a plot
showing the
increase in temperaure since 1998.

Ahahahahahahahahaha… Stupid KKKonservative KKKlown. A trendline skirts
across the top of the data leaving equal portions of the data above and
below.  In this instane 10 dots above, and 14 below as a result of the crude
nature of ascii graphics.  Nevertheless it represents the best line that can
be fitted to the data based on minimizing the square of the distance between
the line and the real data.  It’s called a least squares curve fit.

You are completely ignorant when it comes to statistics and mathematics in
general aren’t you Bonzo.

Ahahahahahaha.. You don’t know what statistics are, where it comes from,
how it is used, or how to use it, and yet in your vast ignorance, you seem
to think that you know more about science than all of the worlds scientists.

"Voodoo statistics"  Ahahahahahahahah…  You need to go back to public
school and take a refresher course in basic technical literacy.

> 2006 381.90 NA            14.54

No?  Lets plot the data and find out shall we?  Here it is along with the
best linear fit to the data shown as "o".

1998 14.57  *********************o*****
1999 14.33  *****************>>>>o
2000 14.33  *****************>>>>>o
2001 14.48  ************************o
2002 14.56  *************************o**
2003 14.55  **************************o*
2004 14.49  *************************>>o
2005 14.62  *****************************o**
2006 14.54  ***************************>>>o

Look at all those "o"’s lined up there. The trend is up, Up, UP.

In fact the equation is…

o = 14.42 + (0.0195 *(YEAR-1998))

This shows a trend of 2′C (3.5′F) per century.

So Bonzo, who is paying you to post lies to this newsgroup?

The Worst Australian Drought For 40,000 Years

So all this dryness and rising temperatures are caused by landclearing
since European colonisation eh?
And yet THE BASTARDS ARE STILL RAPING THE LANDSCAPE AND CLIMATE.
This is just total primitive BULLSHIT and we will put an end to it.
Any tree produces EVAPORATION which becomes RAIN. Its not rocket science.
Cut down a forest giant and that EVAPORATION IS LOST FOREVER,
because they eventually replace the forest giant with a sad little monoculture
that gets harvested before it even matures. They have to because the
pathetic little tree crops never does mature with an unbalanced ecosystem.

Purging The ABC of Neo-Con Fascists

Howard went much further than merely being Australias government
for close to 12 years. Howard was into social engineering,
brain washing and the intellectual subversion of a young and
optimistic nation. Him and operatives like Ruddock were well
on the way to creating a nation of xenophobic, paranoid
under achievers and studious sycophants, who would believe
anything they were told to believe. Their empire of lies
is broken and their methods exposed and discredited.
Please Australia, don’t let this cancer re-infect our nation.
